Gregorio Ruiz Bazán
He is a talented artisan from Teotitlán del Valle, who has dedicated his life to the art of weaving and to preserving and sharing the legacy of his ancestors through weaving, a tradition he learned since he was 10 years old. With expert hands and a deep respect for his ancestors, he creates unique designs and preserves the designs inherited from his family, capturing them in each piece he makes. His work is distinguished by the excellence and quality of textiles, rugs, bags, cushions and tlacoyales, among other crafts made with wool and dyed with natural dyes such as cochineal, indigo, marush, walnut shell, pomegranate, plants and fruits from nature, where each thread tells a story and each pattern reflects the identity of his culture. With passion and dedication, Gregorio keeps alive a tradition that transcends generations and transmits to his children a heritage of wisdom to continue preserving the love for art and weaving.
